Although for centuries it has been known that hemp is the strongest natural fiber on earth, it has only been legalized for manufacturing in the United States within the last two decades. The reason for the 1930's prohibition stems from ignorance regarding the psychoactive chemical, T.H.C.. Hemp fiber predominantly comes from the male cannabis plant and is grown and farmed much differently than cannabis. Hemp products, unlike the cannabis plant and it’s fruit, do not contain T.H.C..

Hemp fiber, when manipulated, produces one of the most durable fabrics known to man. Scientific testing has shown that hemp fabric is almost ten times as strong as cotton. Unfortunately, hemp cannot be legally grown in the United States today. Fabric, twine and seed must be imported due to regulations placed on the hemp industry by multi-national enterprises, i.e. the paper products, cotton, chemical and petroleum industries, who have strong financial interests in keeping hemp production restricted in the United States.

The time has come when we can no longer ignore the destruction of our environment. The fact is, hemp can be the perfect answer to many of our ecological problems. With all its benefits, hemp can no longer be denied the recognition it deserves as a major natural resource.

It is a matter of supply and demand; when the value of hemp is realized, the demand for hemp will allow for fewer trees to be cut, less production waste to be released into the environment, and more natural and environmentally conscious products.
